Choosing an extension

Frequently asked questions

How is domain availability checked?
Against RDAP, the official registry protocol that replaced public WHOIS. If the registry has no record of the domain, it is shown as available; if it is registered, it is shown as taken. This is the authoritative source, not a guess from whether a website loads.
Why can a domain look free but cost a lot?
Some unregistered names are flagged by registries as premium and priced well above the standard rate, and some taken domains are parked for resale. Availability here means "not currently registered"; always confirm the price at the registrar before buying.
Does this use AI?
No. The names come from real naming techniques such as blending two words, adding brandable prefixes and suffixes, and a small statistical model trained on a list of brand-like words. That keeps results fast, free and free of the sameness you get from AI name tools.
Is this really free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free and there is no sign-up. The names, palettes and taglines are generated in your browser. Domain and handle checks run through a small private proxy so your browser can reach the registries; we do not store what you search.
